Traveling to the USA
Traveling to the United States isn't as easy as it used to be, and that's unfortunate. Here are some guides on how to get here and get home safely.

In our experience, the most important advice we give people is to be clear they:
- Are traveling for an educational conference
- Have proof of lodging
- Have a defined return date
Getting to CascadiaJS in Seattle, WA
There are lots of ways to get to Seattle, WA, let's review.
Take the Hacker Train (or Bus)
Choo! Choo! All aboard the Hacker Train! If you live in Portland, OR or Vancouver, BC (or any Amtrak spot in between) there is no better way to get to CascadiaJS than to join your fellow devs on the Hacker Train (or Bus). Here are the options we recommend:
Coming from Portland, OR
- Depart from Portland Union Station
- May 31 at 2:10pm
- Amtrak Cascades 518 Train
- Arriving in Seattle King St Station at 5:37pm
Coming from Vancouver, BC
- Depart from Vancouver Pacific Central Station
- Sept 17 at 11:30am
- 8909 Connecting Bus
- Arriving in Seattle King St Station at 3:30pm.

Fly in to Seatac
The closest airport to Seattle is Seatac (SEA).
Once you arrive, the cheapest and easiest way to get to Seattle in on the Light Rail. Just take 1 Line north to downtown.
Fly in to Paine Field
Another nearby airport is Paine Field (PAE).
Options for getting to Seattle from Paine Field include rental cars, taxis, rideshare, and shuttles.
Lodging in Seattle, WA

A boutique hotel in downtown Seattle, very close to the conference venue. Amenities include free WiFi if you sign up for IHG One Rewards, complimentary coffee and tea service in the lobby each morning, and a complimentary hosted wine hour each day from 5-6pm.

- $269 USD per night
- 5 min walk to Town Hall
- 5 min walk to Symphony Station (Link light rail)
- Please book through the link below. The $26 per night guest amenity fee will be waived upon check-in. Hotel Monaco Seattle
A stylish hotel with recently renovated rooms in downtown Seattle, very close to Town Hall. Amenities include free wifi throughout the hotel and a complimentary hosted wine hour each day from 5-6pm.

- 7 min walk to Town Hall
- 3 min walk to Symphony Station (Link light rail)
